Curb Type
- The mountable curb in the center of the roundabout uses an "R-curb" design, and all approaches to the roundabout use a similar "S-curb" design. These types of curb (as shown in the graphic to the right) are designed to be driven on, particularly by the large vehicles that need additional room while navigating the roundabout.
- For comparison, a traditional curb type is a “B-curb”, which has a steeper slope and is not meant to be mountable
- The inclusion of the mountable curb does not mean the roundabout design is too small for large vehicles
